The thing handled like a boat! It was under powered (Olds 455 with a qjuet tuned for summer), had really bouncy shocks, the hood stretched for miles (even compared to my car), the power steering was really really power assisty, and the defroster didn't work so I drove with my head out the window. It was awesome!

You described my ride in a '66 Continental. Wobbly, massive dimensions, boat-like handling and totally awesome.

Sweet :) there are only a handful of American cars that I would genuinely consider importing over here. The first gen Firebird, the Corvair and the Toronado.
Awesome machines.

Very cool! Where'd you drive it (not on the sunny, gravel road by the pictured cornfield, I assume)?
Big ol' American iron is fun, even if conditions are less than ideal. Maybe you should have been smoking a stogie to help defrost the windshield.
